Our Mission

To put it simply, is to preserve the Baden-Powell camping experience for generations of future scouters.  The Council has a unique property in Lefeber Northwoods Camps and we intend to showcase this property to the current troops in the council, out of council troops as well as outside groups in need of a rustic setting for activites.  We intend to focus on efforts on the following:

Focus on the Campers

The first attribute for any successful revitalization of the camp is to focus on our customers; the troops.  All successful companies focus on solving for the needs of thier end-users.  The scouting program will bring them to camp, while the experiences they have will determine whether they catch the higher vision and come back year and year thereafter.

Explore new avenues

for revenue

We intend to leave no stone unturned in the search for additional revenue streams of the camp.  We are ready to diversify the camp's off-season offerings to organizations who may need a rustic venue for activites.  Additionally, we will fundraise through pursuing crowd sourcing, grant applications and corporate sponorship of programs.

Coordinate volunteer

efforts

There are multiple organizations who are currently offering service hours to the camp or who are prepared to do so.  We intend to focus the efforts of these groups around a central purpose to ensure that hours of service being performed are directly reducing the deferred maintenance that exists at the camp.

Market the true

Baden-Powell

camp experience

The rustic nature of the camp coupled with an emphasis on patrol cooking provides the perfect background for the wildneress experience about which Lord Baden-Powell spoke so highly.  We believe that there is a market across nearby councils for this kind of camp.  We intend to modernize and commit resources to exclaiming to the world what we have.
